Kremlin: Government takes proactive steps to restrict inflation
MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) – The Russian government is taking proactive measures to rein in inflation, which is also a global problem, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday, when business daily Vedomosti reported that the Economic Development Ministry raised the 2022 inflation forecast to 5.9% from 4%.
"This is an absolutely negative phenomenon. Inflationary pressure continues, firstly, on the back of the global trends, which, of course, are projected to our situation as well,” Peskov said.
“This is why yes, the inflationary pressure exists, and it is unclear when this pressure will be over. This being said, the government keeps on working and it does this quite proactively."
